How to get there

By shuttle bus

One of the easiest ways to get from San José to Puerto Viejo is by taking a shuttle bus. Several transportation companies operate shuttle services between the two destinations.

These buses are comfortable, and air-conditioned, and offer a safe and convenient way to travel. In addition, they usually have multiple departures throughout the day, allowing you to choose a time that suits your schedule. I highly recommend traveling with Caribe Shuttle.

By public bus

If you prefer a more budget-friendly option, you can take a public bus from San José to Puerto Viejo. The public bus system in Costa Rica is reliable and extensive. There is a bus from San Jose to Puerto Viejo every day.
