Wine bars + shops in Lisbon (natural wine) 🍷
1. Black Sheep
My favorite go-to neighborhood wine bar nestled in the popular Praça das Flores area (which just won TimeOut’s 33 Coolest Streets in the World at #18) run by the sweetest Brazilian couple, Bruna and Lucas.
Lisbon’s smallest wine bar (small in size but never lacking) which has an intimate + personal feel which truly makes this place so special.
You will be sure to leave more knowledgeable about wine than when you entered!
2. Insaciável
Recently opened in late 2021, this French-owned wine bar has taken Lisbon by storm. Located in the quintessential Madragoa/Santos neighborhood with stringed light decor and cozy indoor seating is Insaciável.
Pop in for fantastic service, natural wine from all over Europe, and delicious petiscos (small plates)
I’d recommend the cheese plate and oysters with a fruity natty wine!
3. Ippolito & Maciste
Located a stone’s throw away from Insaciável, is this Italian restaurant/aperitivo wine bar which opened in November 2021.
Featuring yummy burrata, focaccia, and impeccable orange wines from Italy, this quickly became a neighborhood hot spot for locals alike.
It’s always a good time at Ippolito & Maciste.
4. Senhor Manuel
Senhor Manuel is the little brother of Senhor Uva, which is a delightful upscale vegetarian restaurant. Located across the street on Rua de Santo Amaro is this shop + bar.
Featuring 250 references from Portugal + wines from abroad with carefully curated local products.
Stop by for a glass and a small bite to eat and watch the cars pass.
5. Vino Vero
Located in the artsy neighborhood of Graça, just down the street from Miradouro da Graça is this Italian run wine bar + restaurant.
A staple in the natural wine world in Lisbon as the owners are very active in the wine community.
I will admit it is a bit pricey here compared to others but the kind service and atmosphere are slim to none!
It does fill up quite quickly so I would suggest going early.
6. Ladidadi
Ladidadi is a wine shop, bar, vinyl store, and wine distributor that features some of the best natural wines in the city.
Located in the hilly Graça area, this wine shop has it all. Pop in for a glass or for a bottle and you won’t be disappointed.
The owner even created a yearly wine fair called Pura Sede. The next one is March 25th, 2023.
Additionally, they even have monthly wine subscriptions for locals which feature hand selected wines.
7. Bar Boca
Tucked away in Alfama, is this newly opened (June 2022) wine bar.
With an emphasis on providing you more than just your typical charcuterie board, this bar features some outstanding plant based food options.
From a fried oyster mushroom sandwich made from a local mushroom farm, to an artichoke heart tartar, all while providing incredible wine pairings.
*Bonus gem
Technically not a “wine bar” but who cares? It’s definitely worth mentioning Tati.
A bit out of the city center is this foodie’s paradise. A mix of Portuguese and Spanish influence with a superb wine list.
Take an Uber if you must but go try out Tati! And don’t leave without trying one of their homemade empanadas.
