Turin Best Bars

Turin Best Bars

The hard yards (a great deal of effort or hard work - Australian slang) have been done with this guide I have spent time curating the perfect list of my go-to and want-to for the next trip (I visit Turin monthly at least) So the guide below has plenty of choices if you visiting Turin for more than a day or two. It includes: - 20 bars (the map indicates the neighbourhood and I have written something about each one to help you along your way I find Turin irresistible, and a big reason for that is its amazing bar culture and history. It feels like every corner has a bar that beckons, tempting me with the prospect of a cheeky Vermouth or Turino Milano. This guide leans into the local favourites, with a dash of the classics that still hold a special place in the hearts of the city's residents. Another big thing is Turin is red wine (Barolo, Barbaresco and Nebbiolo) so wine bars also show up in this Free Guide. If you like this and want a more in-depth guide for Turin consider my Turin guide as your personal tour guide:)

Turin
@RoamingGraciously
It's understandable to want to keep the secret of this perfect Italian city close to your heart. The seamless operation of daily life, the influence of French culture on food and language, and the lush landscapes, including the Po River and the nearby Langhe wine region, make it a hidden gem. With abundant vermouth, charming bars, delectable snacks, and vibrant markets, the city offers a unique blend of experiences. Art galleries and museums further enrich its cultural tapestry. You are in on the secret don't stuff it up and tell everyone.

The Turin Bar Scene is great.

🍷✨Let's kick off this guide with a deep dive into Turin's Vermouth bars because, frankly, this stuff is the liquid gold of the city. Its roots trace back to the 18th century, with a certain Carpano often credited as the pioneer (although, a vermouth-making masterclass hinted it might have happened even earlier). Carpano wasn't just the first to produce it; he boldly showcased it in his store, sending the city into a frenzy. Soon, a wave of bars followed suit, crafting their unique blends, each recipe a thrilling deviation. I've delved into countless books on the subject, and the beauty lies in the distinctiveness of every concoction. Cheers to Turin's vermouth, a story as rich and diverse as the city itself! 🍷✨

Vermuttino
@RoamingGraciously
This was my first bar visit to Turino years ago and still remains a firm favourite. The space is small the drinks are great especially if you want to taste vermouth. Russian Salad, grissini (Italian breadsticks which trace their heritage back to an Italian king who was told to eat ‘only crust’ to resolve his digestive issues) and tramezzino so they serve them a lot for Aperitivo and that's nice. - Sit out the front if its possible and just watch the world go by

Coffee Wine Emilio Ranzini
@RoamingGraciously
Tiny world of small sandwiches and drinks to start your evening or even your day. Caf'e Ranzini is the place to stop for a few minutes for a glass of vermouth or even a bici >a flat spritz, with white wine instead of prosecco) Out back is a nice little courtyard where you can also work from. - Negroni and snacks is what I go for.

SPACCIO VINI e OLII
@RoamingGraciously
Any bar that advertises that they do not serve Aperol sprits is good in my mind. Natural wine is heavy at this place and the local young creative types love it, great wifi so handy if you are a digital nomad type. - Food is great and in the warmer months, the outdoor space is perfect.

Pastis
@RoamingGraciously
Pastis is just behind Porta Palazzo, this has long been a haunt for the young Turinese after a trip to the market. Great for a light lunch or an aperitivo. Decorated in a colourful 1950s retro style, Pastis’ easygoing nature serves light and simple Sicilian cuisine to make a change from those hearty Piemontese dishes.

La Drogheria - Cocktail Bar
@RoamingGraciously
The place to be seen in turino Historical restaurant of the Turin nightlife, led by the director Martina Franchini. The Drogheria looks out with its stained glass windows and its dehors on Piazza Vittorio Veneto. At number 18 / D one comes to be hypnotized by the mastery of mixing by the three faces of the place: Jacopo Lucat, Carola Abrate and Paul Canetti. The drink list offers exclusive cocktail signatures and preparations of its own production that you can enjoy together with the chef’s delights.
