Barcelona My Top 10 Activities from someone who lived there
Barcelona is my favorite city ever. I lived in this city for my masters study, during the pandemic year, and having the whole city to ourselves was just the best experience ever. We had almost no tourist, could visit anything, and since I was studying in the tourism industry I did it for free ;)
Anyway, here are my tips for your first visit here!
How to come to Barcelona
Well, you can come by plane of course, like any city in Europe. If you don't live too far, you also have the train or bus option, and if you come from an island, maybe even the boat?
If you take the plane, you will arrive at the airport which is like 40min by bus from the city center. Don't take the big blue buses right in front of the entrance, but look for the more local buses. They are orange, and you will pay only 2/3 euros against 8 euros last time I checked the price for the big bus. You'll have more stops however.
You can also take the metro, but you'll most likely have to change one or twice to get to the center. If you don't have a big luggage, it might be a good option as well.
How to get around Barcelona
You might not know it, but Barcelona is a biiiiig city, and I would recommend taking a metro/ bus pass to be more comfortable. You can walk a lot, especially when you are in the city center, but the monuments, many of them are quite far from the center. If you go down a metro station, you can get to the machine and choose a 7 day pass for example. Otherwise, you can now also pay your journey on the bus by card (no contact).
