MALLORCA : TOP ACTIVITIES TO DO ON THE ISLAND
MALLORCA // TOP 3 THINGS TO DO
Welcome to Mallorca, one of the gems of the Balearic Islands! You will for sure be amazed by the beauty of this lively yet still very authentic island. While you'll be having fun and being overwhelmed by everything the island has to offer, here is a selection of the activities you shouldn't miss: Top 3 things to do in Mallorca.
Exploring the "Calas"
As many of the Balearic islands, Mallorca is full of "calas", these little, almost secret for some of them, natural and preserved beaches where you can enjoy the sea and feel the authenticity of the island. You'll be able to choose within the numerous inlet beaches all around the island. Among the most beautiful ones, you can try Sa Calobra at the North of the island, where you can also enjoy scenic views with a bike ride thanks to the cycling path near the "cala". You can also find some breathtaking turquoise water beaches at Cala S'Almonia, Cala Santanyi or at Cala d'Es Moro near a charming fisherman town in the South of the island where you'll see the many shades of turquoise and blue water. One "cala" with larger white sand beach is Cala Mesquida. For the more adventurous, you can also explore the "calas" by doing some coasteering, a mix of hiking and climbing in the coastal rocks, in Cala d'Es Montjo or Cala del Mago.
A boat day in the Mediterranean Sea
Mallorca is a great location to embark for a day in the Mediterranean Sea, as you can easily reach great snorkeling spots from the coast and enjoy the sun from a boat. Usually you'll be able to get a full day experience on the boat and explore some "calas" where you'll find nice swimming spots. Most of the boat tours on the island include two or more spots, one lunch on the boat and can give you snorkeling material for you to get the most of the sea experience! As an advice, be careful with which tour company you book your day as some of the catamaran or boat tours can sometimes be quite expensive for finally many people on board, which would not be an as chill and enjoyable experience as you would like.
Biking around Old Town
Another smart way to discover the island and especially the city of Palma de Mallorca is by renting bikes and getting around the main landmarks and the little streets of the Old Town area. You can totally rent bikes by yourself and shape your own itinerary around the island, or book a biking tour visit. One recommendation would be to book a tour to visit the best spots of Old Town of Palma. For instance, if you book with the renting and touring company like Call & Ride, you'll be able to experience a very complete tour which lasts around 3 hours with a tapas degustation in bonus!
