Panjim is a capital city of the state of Goa in India. I've seen many travelers skipping this part except for visiting the Churches, & Casino's. However, there is more to explore in the by lanes for Panjim which a comparatively busier part of Goa being the administrative hub of the state.

How to get here?

Panjim is centrally located & easily accessible by rented / self-drive cars, local buses that ply from almost every corner within the state, intercity buses (that originate from major cities in the surrounding states), rail (nearest station being Karmali, Thivim, Vasco about 40-60 mins) by air (nearest airport being GOI or GOX about 60 mins)

Visit:

Fontainhas

Fontainhas Quarters: This Latin quarter is known for narrow lanes full of colorful villas. Its home to small boutiques shops serving bakery items, local goan dishes, rustic bar, church. Though its not crowded, the best time to visit is in the afternoon when you can have the whole colorful street in the background of your photos!

Panjim Promonade

Panjim Promenade
@kunalyadav
Take a walk on this promenade especially in the evening hours to spot bustling casino boats in the estuary. Look on the other side of the river towards Reis Magos. You can even take a short ferry ride & cross over to Reis Magos just to experience the local life (the ferry terminal is close by). If you walk straight away from the sea on this promenade you will find sales offices of the casinos. If gambling is something fuels your adrenaline you can definitely visit one of the boats.
