Explore Bohinj: A Guide to Slovenia's Alpine Paradise
Some places captivate me every single time I visit. It doesn’t matter the season, how often I go, or who I’m with. I’m not entirely sure if it’s the energy of the place, the nature, the memories, or maybe a mix of everything. But one thing’s for sure: Bohinj is one of those places that has it all. It’s home to Slovenia’s most stunning lake, one of the country’s most beautiful waterfalls, charming valleys and gorges, a ski resort, crystal-clear rivers and streams, probably the prettiest alpine meadows, and it’s a fantastic starting point for mountain adventures. Add to that solid infrastructure and a sprinkle of quirky locals, and it’s no wonder Bohinj is an easy answer to the question: “Where should I go in Bohinj?”
Bohinj offers a treasure trove of attractions perfect for the whole family. In this guide, we’ll explore 14 different natural landmarks. We’ll start in the Mostnica Valley, marveling at its impressive gorges, the Voje Valley, and the Mostnica waterfall. Of course, no visit is complete without the famous Savica waterfall. From there, we’ll head to scenic viewpoints like Vogar Alpine Meadow, Peč above Bohinj, and Vodnik’s Lookout Point.
