10: Bergun
If you like fast paced luge and a beautiful village architecture, Bergun is for you.
This village is on the Bernina Express line, so you can ride up to Bergun, and then continue with the normal Rhätiachebahn trains to your destination after an hour of thrill on the 6 kilometers luge track.
9: Stoos
Relatively close to Zürich and Lucerne. Take one of the steepest funiculars in the world to Stoos. The the views from Ftomalpstock on Lake Lucerne are amazing.
8: Adelboden & Lenk
In the heart of the Berner Oberland, both villages have beautiful valley views. Two of our favorite hotels are in Adelboden and Lenk, the Cambrian and Lenkerhof hotels, both with spas and outdoor heated pools. Adelboden is also close to Oschinensee and Blausee.
7: Flims & Laax
Ski resort specialized in freestyle. Large resort with lots of slopes possibilities and also powder for off-piste skiing. We also love it for the Caumasee and Crestasee Lakes.
6: St Moritz
One of the most chic and Jet-set villages in Switzerland. The Corviglia area goes high up. The village has a beautiful lake, frozen in the winter. Another highlight is that St Moritz is the first stop for the Glacier Express if you would like to combine it with Zermatt.
5: Engelberg Titlis
Close to Lucerne, this ski resort is surrounded by high mountains. The village has incredible views from Dorfstrasse. You also have a cheese factory you can visit.
The ski resort has two sides, Brunni, more for beginners and good for luge, and Mount Titlis, the ski and pedestrian experience in Titlis is great, from the Rotair rotating gondola to the unique views on top, and the thrill walk.
4. Verbier
The largest ski resort in Switzerland! More than 400km of slopes. You will have endless possibilities on slopes, but also off-piste skiing. You will also have non-skier activités like the longest zipline in the alps, luge slopes, and a great Après-ski scene! You will party in Verbier!
3. Jungfrau region: Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren, Lauterbrunnen
A paradise for everyone; skiers with multiple ski resorts connected, and non skiers for the access to the Jungfraujoch Top of Europe, fun activites at Grindelwald First, and cute mountain villages. You can’t go wrong by going to the Jungfrau region.
2: Saas Fee
In Saas Fee, you will be high up in the Valais and you will have the possibility to ski on a glacier, in the winter and even in the summer!
There are other activites like curling in the very cute village surrounded by high peaks. Go eat at the highest rotating restaurant in the world!
1: Zermatt
Our absolute favorite in all seasons, Zermatt has an extensive ski area, extremely well connected. You can even go ski in Italy and on a glacier. Of course, the highlight is the sight of the Matterhorn no matter where you go and ski!
For non skiers, go to the Gornergrat and take the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise gondola to the Little Matterhorn and see the famous mountain from a different angle at more than 12,000 feet.
The village of Zermatt itself is worth a trip, one of the cutest in Switzerland. Don’t skip the sunset and sunrise colors on the Matterhorn!
