Beginner's Guide to Snowboarding at Niseko, Hokkaido and Snow Activities Recommendation (Also includes pinned locations of where to collect exclusive character merchandises!)
How to use this guide
This guide is recommended for a minimum of four full days, where you may explore one resort per day. If you would like to try out other snow activities as well, such as snowmobile or snow tubing, we would recommend five full days so you may have sufficient time to experience it to the fullest.
For accommodation, we recommend staying at one hotel only, based on the mountain/resort you and your group are most interested in as base. We do not recommend changing hotels as it is a hassle to pack all the wet and heavy snowboard stuff in and out of hotels. Details on the accommodation recommendations for each resort are provided below.
About Niseko
Niseko United is comprised of four resorts on the one mountain, including Niseko Hanazono Resort, Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU, Niseko Village Ski Resort, and Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area. It is a popular choice for snowboarding as it allows snowboarders to try four different resorts all in one trip. The optimal time to visit Niseko is January to February, where you may plunge into the world’s finest powder snow (which also means more cushion for those inevitable falls while snowboarding!) Lifts operate as early as 8:30 to 16:30 (Night-skiing from 16:30 - 19:00).
