Welcome to the island of Oahu! Home of Hawaii's state capital, Honolulu, Oahu is the most populous of the Hawaiian islands with nearly 1 million residents, but it welcomes nearly 5 million tourists annually.
When to go
If you want the best weather and don't mind higher prices, April & May will offer the best weather before summer crowds pick up.
Oahu experiences the most rain from October to March. Rainy season may sound like a downer, but rain is usually localized and brief, so you are still sure to be able to find sun by only crossing to another side of the island. Traveling in the rainy season is a great way to keep your budget low since both airfare and accommodations will generally be cheaper than summer months.
Hawaii is also prone to hurricanes, with most common occurrances in July, August, & September.
