From there, head to Marienplatz to witness the famous Glockenspiel performance at 11 AM. Marvel at the ornate New Town Hall and the vibrant atmosphere of the city center. It also plays at 12 PM and 5 PM, so don't fret if you happen to miss the first show. 

My personal recommendation is to rent bikes if the weather is good. Munich is a city that lives in the summer and it is worth exploring it like that; however, also offers a very good public transport system, with buses, trains and trams running every 5-20 minutes, which offers a good alternative. Be careful that if you rent bikes, these are not allowed to be ridden around the Marienplatz, there are many areas to leave them but this is just something to be aware of.  

From there, head to the Residenzmuseum, this is located about 10 minutes away on foot, if the weather is nice this is a very nice walk. take the path right of the Rathaus and walk straight, this will take you right there. Explore the impressive Munich Residenz, the former royal palace of Bavarian monarchs. Admire its opulent rooms, magnificent courtyards, and rich history. 

Start your Saturday morning with a delightful breakfast at Gärtnerplatz, which is right by the Viktualienmarkt, where you can find a variety of fresh and delicious options to kickstart your morning. I highly recommend Cortidiano, with their amazing array of foods on offer. After breakfast, make sure to walk over the Vitualienmarkt and take in all of the stands. 

Make your way to the Eisbachwelle in the English Garden to watch skilled surfers ride the man-made wave. It's a unique and captivating experience! There are two waves, the one by the bridge is the advanced wave, so it is worth standing by the bridge and admiring the surfers. You can always find them, even in winter, so make sure to stop by regardless of the weather. 

Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Chinesischer Turm, a charming beer garden in the English Garden. Savour traditional Bavarian dishes while immersed in a serene outdoor setting.

In the afternoon, visit Nymphenburg Palace, a stunning baroque palace surrounded by beautiful gardens. Take a guided tour to learn about its captivating history and the Bavarian royal family.

The area around the university offers a wide range of cafes and bakeries, making it perfect for a leisurely morning meal. Next, head to the Kunstareal area to visit the Pinakotheken, a cluster of renowned art museums. The S-Bahn lines S1 and S8 connect Munich Airport with the city center. Both lines run frequently, and you can catch them from the airport's underground S-Bahn station, located directly below the central area of Terminal 1 (follow the signs for "S-Bahn").Depending on your final destination in the city, you can take either S1 or S8, as they both stop at various stations in the city center and beyond. The journey to the city center takes around 35-40 minutes. Tickets for the S-Bahn can be purchased at ticket machines in the airport's train station. Make sure to get a ticket valid for zones covering the airport and your destination within the city.

Getting from the Airport to the city center:  

Lufthansa operates an express bus service called "Lufthansa Airport Bus," which provides a direct connection from the airport to Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Schwabing.The buses run regularly and offer comfortable transportation to the city center. The journey time to the central station is approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic.Tickets for the Lufthansa Airport Bus can be purchased directly from the driver or online in advance.	

Taxis are available at the designated taxi ranks outside the terminals. They offer a convenient door-to-door service to your accommodation in the city. Taxis can be more expensive than public transport, but they are a good option if you have heavy luggage or prefer a direct and private transfer.	

If you prefer to have your own transportation, you can rent a car from various rental agencies at the airport. Munich city center is well-connected by highways, but parking can be limited and expensive.

Munich has an excellent public transportation network operated by the MVV (Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund). The network includes buses, trams, and the U-Bahn (subway).
