Mastering CitiBike In NYC

Getting Started
1. Download The App
By downloading the CitiBike app, you have access to fast bike unlocking, finding nearby stations, and even directions to your destination.
Use the link below to get free biking credit!
2. Membership Matters
There are multiple ways to use CitiBike, it all depends if you are flexible or not. You can get a day pass ($15 as of 01/2024) and you can also pay by ride for quick trips.
Unlocking A Bike
1. Getting The Bike
Find your bike at a docking station with an available green light. Use the app to scan the QR code, and hear the satisfying click that unlocks your freedom. Give the bike a quick once-over to ensure tires are pumped and brakes work well.
When you are actually riding the bike, be sure to follow all traffic and biking laws, and educating yourself on being safe. Be mindful of pedestrians, signal your turns and stops clearly, and yield when necessary. Remember, courtesy goes a long way in the urban jungle.
3. Docking The Bike
When you are finished, find a station that has an open dock. Be sure to dock your bike, in a dock that doesn't have a red light. Make sure to push with all your body strength. Make sure to check the app if you have any issues as well.
