Vienne is a small city in the department of Isère in the region Rhône-Alpes. Vienne is 20 miles (32 km) south of Lyon, on the Rhône River.

1. Roman Theater: Start your day at the roman theater, one of Vienne's most iconic landmarks. Explore the well-preserved ruins and imagine the ancient performances that once took place here. 

TIP: If you have a car, go by car. Otherwise the walk up by foot can be quiet "heavy" but still worth it. Walked all the way up with my baby.

2. Temple D'Auguste et de Livie: Just a short walk from the theater, visit the temple of August and Livia, a roman temple dating back to 1st century BC.

Lunch

3. Vienne's old town: Head to the charming old town of Vienne for a delightful french lunch, You'll find numerous bistros and cafes offering local cuisine.

Afternoon:

4. Gallo-Roman Museum of Saint-Romain-en-Gal: Cross the Rhône River to visit this fascinating museum, which houses a remarkable collection of Roman artifacts. It's a short drive from the city center.
