 The culture of jazz, the great musicians in Bogotá, has their roots in one particular place, "Bolon de verde". Near the center of the city, this place has is unique vibe; the music, the food, the people.

This place has seen the birth of several musicians, LP, discs, albums and is always open for new musicians.

This place is awesome, is a place for the young people to go and get themselves surrounded by the culture of jazz, almost every Tuesday they have making jam's without any fee, just get there and play.

And if you don't like playing, but want to know great musicians, this is the places. You are not a jazz musician in Bogotá unless you have jam here.

In one word, this place is, Bluesy. This gender is the king in Soul45, in his social media you can see that (like in Diosa) this place have a very recurrent themed jam, Tuesdays blues, Wednesday jazz and a bit of everything the Thursdays.

You can hear the music calling you from the streets and offering you a piece of good ol' blues, so sit there, enjoy a beer and let the music resonate with your soul.

Although the main thing on this place is the food; the performances are fantastic, they do a lot of tributes, that go from rock, to jazz to blues, it's a very varied in terms of the people that go there and play.

The variety make this place excellent if you don't want to be exposed to intense jazz.

The free jazz is to this place what blues is to soul45. Be ready to hear all sorts of fusion, free, Colombian jazz, experiments, you name it. 

This place has such a warm feeling (to me) I share good memories in this site, looking to friends, teachers, strangers, getting together and do what they love most. Music.

These places are not "strictly" jazz places, but you definitely have to check them out. 

The first one being what we call "la media torta" an open scenery for all cultural events. 

Followed by this is the "centro cultural Uniandes" (Uniandes cultural center) where they do a lot of classical concerts, jazz concerts, etc.
