How to get to Samara?

By rental car

If you have a rental car, perfect, you can easily reach the town by the main road from Nicoya or Santa Cruz or if you prefer, there is also a road by the coast connecting Nosara and Tamarindo. Having a private car is a good idea if you want to explore the surroundings and don't want to walk or hire local transport.

By public transport

No car? No problem! Coming from San José or the airport, there is a bus line that connects you directly to Samara, once or twice a day. The company is called "Alfaro", you can call the Samara office (26-56-02-61) or  buy your ticket at the counter in San José. Price is about 8 USD. If you come from another place in the region, you can also take the bus from Nicoya that goes further to Estrada. Price point is around 1,6 USD.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
👋🏻 Hello | Bienvenue | Bienvenido | Willkommen 📍Lyon, France My name is Darja, I am a young German expat currently living in France since 4 years. I work part-time for a German Travel Company as a Tourguide which organizes group travels, itineraries and activities. My travel style is solo female, group travel, low-budget, backpacker friendly and adventurous, that includes camping in the mountains or at beautiful beaches, doing sporty activities, exploring vibrant city nightlife and get to know locals with their food and culture. When I plan a trip, I love to research a lot, to be prepared for any kind of situation and also not to miss out on an amazing opportunity. I love surfing and often travel to test different beaches and spots. Our environment and nature is very important for me and I would always opt for slow and sustainable travel when possible. To most of the places in Europe I went by train or bus, so I know a lot of hacks and routes for this form of transport. I also don't eat meat, so testing all countries for their veggie foodie heavens!
