Burleigh Head National Park is a natural headland that offers a trail through the rainforest and past the beaches of Tallebudgera Creek. The path is sealed and you'll find spectacular lookouts and plenty of wildlife. Be sure to wear non-slip shoes as the path can be slippery when wet.

Hillhaven

Start your walk at Goodwin Terrace end where you will find parking. Enter through the gate and veer right to take the Ocean View Lookout track by climbing the stairs. Keep an eye out for water dragons, they might not move out of your path. Don't worry, they aren't dangerous. Grab a selfie with one if you want!

Tumgun Lookout

Continue following the track. Be sure to stop at Jebbribillum Lookout for spectacular views across the ocean. You might even see humpback whales in the winter months. Keep walking and you will find Tumgun Lookout for views of the Tallebudgera Creek and Seawall.

Ocean View Lookout Track

When you reach the Ocean View Track, stop at Echo Beach and enjoy a refreshing dip in Tallebudgera Creek. Bring a picnic and enjoy the peace and quiet.

When you're ready to leave, continue along the Ocean View Track towards the car park. Be sure to stop and take in the views of the Gold Coast.

I lived for 4 years on Cruise Ships, cruising the Mediterranean, Caribbean and South Pacific. From there, I lived in St Kitts in the West Indies for 2 years. Melbourne, Australia was my home base for 20 years, and for the past 9 years, I’ve been enjoying the sun, sand and surf of the Gold Coast.
