Prague has an extensive public transportation network consisting of trams, buses, metro (subway) and even ferries and funicular. The public transport system is operated by the Dopravní podnik hlavního města Prahy (DPP). All means of transport are integrated in the PID (Pražský integrovaný systém) - that ensures unified fare system, planned route networks with connections and intervals between different routes an on-time informing of passengers.

Ⓜ️Underground/Metro
The Prague Metro is the backbone of the city’s public transportation system, offering a fast, reliable, and efficient way to navigate the city.
Operating hours are from 5 AM to midnight, with trains running every 2-3 minutes during peak hours and every 5-10 minutes during off-peak hours.
Prague metro consists of three lines, each identified by a color and a letter:
🟢 Line A (Green): Runs east-west, connecting the city center with neighborhoods like Dejvice and Strašnice with official terminal stations at Nemocnice Motol (Motol Hospital) and Depo Hostivař (Hostivař Depot). The whole ride takes 44 mins.
🟡 Line B (Yellow): Runs southwest-northeast, linking areas such as Smíchov and Černý Most with official terminal stations at Zličín and Černý Most. The whole ride takes 61 mins.
🔴 Line C (Red): Runs north-south, from terminals Letňany to Háje, passing through key areas like Vyšehrad and the Main train station. The whole ride takes 35 mins.
I created the following map for you so you can imagine the stations in the real city-scape.
**🔵 Line D (Blue): In April 2022, construction officially began on Prague's new metro line D. The D line is scheduled to be completed by December 2031 and will run from Depo Písnice to Náměstí Míru (see map below). Currently, the first stage of line D is under construction.**
