A bit of context
Located in the heart of the northern Italian region of Piemonte, Turin (Torino in Italian) is the capital city of one of the richest parts of modern Italy and the 4th largest city in the country with a population of around 850 000 inhabitants.
Close to the slopes of the Italian Alps, Turin was founded in the 3rd Century B.C. by the Romans as Taurasia and kept being a revelant urban complex throught History - Turin was successively capital for the Duchy of Turin, the Duchy of Savoy, the Kingdom of Sardinia and was also the first capital city of the united Italian Kingdom between 1861 and 1865.
Nowadays Turin is best known not as a major tourist attraction but as a industrial powerhouse - being home to FIAT, Lancia and Alfa Romeu - and a cultural hub, especially for cinema and photography.

Turin is relatively well served by its airport (TRN), located around half an hour away from the city center and with directo connections to Portugal, UK, Germany, Spain, France, Morocco, Denmark, Poland, Romania, Albania and Ireland.
