Known as one of the Netherland’s most famous snacks, Bitterballen is a savory fried ball stuffed with a meat-based filling. They come in different shapes and sizes with varied filling - some were stuffed with just cheese while the traditional ones were stuffed with a creamy beef filling.

Bitterballen was one of my favorite savory Dutch snacks, and it’s a perfect appetizer to complement any meal.
