Thailand is known as the Land of Smiles and Thai people will like you. You can get more opportunities if you smile more! There was once where I went to a nail salon and I smiled and said "khoob-khun MA ka", the lady was really sweet and helped me painted the rest of my nails for free even though I only paid for designs on two nails!
I've curated this list that is near the city, night markets and cafes in Thailand to help you get a true Thai experience!
This list is divided into three main areas in Bangkok, Sukhumvit, Khao San and Pratunam. I hope you will be able to find a place suited to your needs!
Sukhumvit
Sukhumvit is part of Bangkok's most action-packed where the night comes alive, amazing restaurants, night markets and little corners for quaint cafes. An excellent place to stay and if you are in Bangkok, you will most likely explore this area at some point!
Fantastic location, very clean and comfortable beds. The staff allows earlier check in which was very helpful. Rooftop courtyard also a lovely feature.
Excellent location and friendly staff, the hostel is chill and guests a provided with comfortable beds. This hostel is near to the skytrain which makes exploring the city very convenient.
Guests feel like home here and the bed is comfortable:) The rooms, toilets and bathroom are very clean and they clean it every night and every morning. They even provide shampoos, conditioners, hand soap, and towels. The vibe is amazing! You can have a karaoke with the other guests!
Very clean, comfortable rooms and guests come back again to stay. Location is amazing with a lot of local activities nearby. The staff is always friendly and with actually good suggestions and helpful tips
Very aesthetic hotel, the plants, the cats… creates such a nice place to hang. Most amazingly comfy bed been in Asia so far! The location is quite good, less than 10 min walk to Terminal 21 & their amazing food court!
Khao San is backpackers haven filled with cheap hostels and affordable shopping. Located in the Old Street Bangkok, the colourful nightlife and exotic vibes will allow you to experience Thailand in a whole new way. Try some unusual street food like scorpions on a stick!
All the staff were very lovely and helpful, the hotel is near to everything! Rooms are modern, and very clean!! There is even a common pantry with free coffee & ice cream; great location as it is close to the market:)
Very social hotel with lots of young people and games! Great location right next to khoasan road but away from the craziness, really clean, comfortable and sociable. Lots of space for luggage and privacy with curtains on the beds. Can be a little noisy for those who need good rest sleep:)
Look forward to fun times with people! The vibe of the place was so good. The property even has a beautiful pool. Great location near to the shopping district.
Even has a pool! About 800-900m to Khaosan. Beds are also comfortable with a nice garden cafe where you can enjoy live music sometimes and can interact with other solo travelers. They have a kitchen so you can cook or heat your food as well.
Every night a social hour will be held, where all the guest get an opportunity to get to know each others. It’s nearby the entrance of Khaosan Road but it’s not noisy at all, and the hostel is absolute clean, bed is literally as comfy as what you have in a decent hotel. Great facilities and location!
Good value for the price. The hostel is located in a nice area at 15min walk to kao San Road. The staff is super nice and common areas are large and nice. You can also use cups and dishes, fridge and free hot and cold water.
Chill vibe and clean hostel! The staff are warm and friendly. They made a fantastic environment for the travellers to hang out together. The staff are knowledgeable with suggestions about what to do in Bangkok and Thailand!
I would usually prefer to stay at Pratunam as it is the hub for all things shopping! Pratunum is famous for their wholesale fashion, street food, night bazaars and it is right in the middle of all the bustle of the city!
Great location in SIAM neighborhood and close to the metro / sky train, which is very convenient go from & to the airport! There is also breakfast included and the place is comfortable enough for travelers to desire to return.
The host is very responsive and good value for money definitely! It’s just 10 mins walk going to pratunam market:) It is near the skytrain and close to attractions in Bangkok.
Value for money is good, perfect location since near the BTS. Quiet neighborhood with restaurants. Staff is friendly. Big room, comfy bed, good working air conditioning, and great water pressure and temperature in the shower. Two free water bottles every day.
It's a relaxing retreat away from the main road yet in the middle of the shopping district. Beds are comfortable. There is a rooftop. There is an accessible kitchen and it is open plan, which is convenient. Staff are helpful and friendly!
A short walk to Platinum mall and perfect location for shopping. Easy to find food nearby and access to public transport. Very clean bathrooms with great water pressure. The room had AC, each bed has good bedding, it's own lights and power outlets:)
The most accessible apartments next to Platinum, best value for money. The location is super accessible to everything - currency exchange, food stalls, platinum mall, McDonald's, Starbucks, ATM, massage, everything!
The location is wonderful and guests can go anywhere easily, especially by boat in the Sansaeb Canal. Food is easy to find. especially when there's a 7-11 is just in front of the place:)
In May 2023, I embarked on a month's long trip with a group of Americans to Thailand where we stayed in various parts of Thailand including Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Hua Hin. From riding elephants, eating the delicious Khao Soy and even climbing caves, me and my friends had an unforgettable time:)
Let me help you make the best memories! If you find this information helpful, any tips are appreciated for my work 🚀
In April 2023, I brought a group of Americans to Asia on a low-budget trip where we visited different tourist attractions and soak in the Asian culture. I enjoy sharing my knowledge about different cultures and how we can be culturally sensitive when we visit another's country. A few of my favorite memories also include going to the dressing up in Hanboks to visit the Korean Palaces, Florida's Disneyworld, Night Markets in Thailand and floating on the Dead Sea in Israel!
I have stayed and visited in many different countries such as Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Taiwan and the United States etc. My favourite things to do is to climb mountains, visit beaches, eat local food and visit farmer's markets. In Asia, we have a very buzzling night life that I hope you get to experience too!
I hope that you find my information helpful and any tips are appreciated for my work :)
