European Road Trip Part 1
European Road Trip Part 1
The Socko Brothers
My family of 4 took a 15 day road trip circling from Switzerland, through Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, and into northern Italy as part of a longer 50 day planes, trains, and automobiles trip around Europe.

This is the trip my family of 4 (including 10 & 12 year old kids) took this past summer. The children had been to Europe before at 4 & 6 and the oldest had also been as a toddler. Both parents have been multiple times.
We enjoy fast paced travel but generally prefer to go to smaller cities or towns. We trained between Zurich-Paris, Paris-Brussels, and Edinburgh-London. We flew from Brussels-London. We rented 4 different cars and drove everywhere else.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
The Socko Brothers
My love affair with Europe began at the age of 18, as a wide-eyed solo explorer eager to uncover the wonders of the world. Fate brought me together with my husband, a fellow globetrotter who had his own overseas adventures and we continued these together.
Fast forward to parenthood, where our love for travel only intensified. Our oldest joined the European adventure at 17 months. As a family of four, we crisscrossed Europe again when the kids were 4 and 6, and again at the ages of 10 and 12. These family escapades aren't just vacations; they are opportunities to instill a love for diversity, curiosity, and the thrill of discovery in our children.
I understand the unique dynamics of family travel – the balance between kid-friendly fun and moments of cultural enrichment. While we relish packing our itineraries with diverse experiences, we do so with a mindful approach to budgeting. Surprisingly, one of our cherished international pastimes is exploring local supermarkets, finding joy in the simple yet fascinating insights they offer into daily life around the world.
