Christmas In New York
Christmas and New York City, my two favorite things. Have a holly jolly season with my 3 day guide to the best and most festive attractions and events! I highly recommend reservations for any and everything you want to do - the holidays are crowded and you don't want to miss out because things are sold out or filled up for the day.
Day 1
Start your day with some shopping at the Columbus Circle holiday market. This market is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. It has a European flair, and the aisles are full of over 100 artisans and designers selling their own unique wares, like special foods, handmade jewelry, art, home goods, and much more. Come hungry and enjoy everything from bureks to tacos to fancy doughnuts and bratwurst.
Next, head to Levain Bakery to warm up with some hot chocolate. Baking hobbyists Pam Weekes & Connie McDonald started Levain to sell fresh-baked breads. In 1995, they whipped up a batch of big chocolate chip walnut cookies, and their neighborhood shop became so much more. “The cookie” earned a spot in the hearts of locals and visitors alike, taking on a life of its own as a New York City icon.
Hot cocoa in hand, wander over to Central Park for a magical winter wonderland - hopefully there will be some snow! You can ice skate at the famous Wollman Rink, sled at Pilgrim or Cedar Hill, and see holiday lights at The Conservancy. If your feet get tired, grab a horse drawn carriage for an hour long ride throughout the park.
