VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

When visiting Karijini National Park, it's important to be aware that there are no fuel pumps within the park, so it's essential to ensure you have enough fuel for your entire visit. Additionally, there are no water supplies available, so it's crucial to bring an ample amount of drinking water to stay hydrated throughout your stay. It's also worth noting that the park has limited bins, so it's important to practice responsible waste management by taking your rubbish with you and leaving no trace. By being prepared and mindful of these factors, you can have a safe and enjoyable experience while minimizing your impact on the environment.

Day 1

Today we are gonna get to the National Park and set up Camp in the morning, we will have lunch at Fern Pool and we will take a nice walk in the afternoon. Nothing too stressfull since we will have a couple of packed days in front of us. If you live and travel out of the same vehicle it can be a good idea to have a look at the Campsite, check in with the Camp Hosts, maybe relax a little and leave the chair and table ready for when you come back. Be aware of Dingos, they will scavenge for food and might Chew on your shoes if you leave them outside.

Set up Camp @ Dales Campground
@valecalza
Dales Campground is a convenient base for exploring Karijini National Park and offers a unique opportunity to witness wild dingos in their natural habitat. Located within the park, the campground provides a tranquil setting surrounded by the park's stunning landscapes. It is required to make a booking in advance through the official website at https://exploreparks.dbca.wa.gov.au/site/dales-campground to secure your spot and ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay during your visit to Karijini National Park. Note that there is no phone reception at the campground so you'l have to make a Booking either before coming to Karijini or at Visitor centre.

Lunch @ Fern Pool
@valecalza
With its tranquil atmosphere and crystal-clear waters, Fern Pool offers a refreshing oasis where you can relax and rejuvenate and makes for the perfect lunch spot. However, it's important to note that while Fern Pool is a beautiful place to visit, it's essential to respect the environment and follow any guidelines or regulations in place to preserve the area's natural integrity. Remember to pack out any waste and leave the area as pristine as you found it. Enjoy !

Dales Gorge Rim Walk
@valecalza
The Gorge Rim Walk and Dales Gorge Walk Trails create a 5.1km loop trail in the Karijini National Park. The Gorge Rim Walk follows the rim of Dales Gorge all the way to Three Ways and Circular Pool Lookouts, before descending into the gorge. From here follow the Dales Gorge Trail to Fortescue Falls and Fern Pool before climbing back up to the Fortescue Falls car park. If you're visiting Karijini in the hottest months of the year, I would suggest you do it the other way around. Starting at Fortescue Falls, walking in the shade of the gorge until you get to the big walk up that takes you to the Circular pool Lookout and from there walking back to the carpark on the rim of the gorge.
