Weather in Doha, Qatar and Before you leave home.

The weather in Doha is perfect in the winter time, and very very hot in summer. We went in the summer time, and we still had a great time, but it really limited us to walking in the city. During July, it gets to 115 degrees.

Places to visit

Souq Waqif. This is a must see spot!
@theirhappytrails
We visited the Souq multiple times during our stay, drawn by its magnetic ambiance and seemingly endless shops. Our daughter especailly loved the section filled with birds, kittens, puppies, and bunnies, all within arm’s reach. As a family, we enjoyed taste-testing the nuts and dates before bringing home bags of our favorites. The Souq offers a variety of dining options suitable for everyone, from bread shops where you order through a window to charming tea and coffee cafes. For those interested in trying a hookah, several locals can be seen enjoying it at nearby tables. Kids can ride camels or ponies and hold a falcon, while parents capture pictures from the side. The Souq also features Turkish ice cream, balloons, toys, and numerous clothing stores, perfect for picking up a traditional outfit as a souvenir.

Souq Woqif Taxi Pick Up Location
@theirhappytrails
This is where the taxis pick up if you don’t have service on your phone. There will be guys offering you rides who are not the official taxis. You can use them, but we never did always look for the blue Toyota Camry. Those are the official taxis of Qatar

National Museum of Qatar
@theirhappytrails
We have to admit, we're not usually the "museum-type" of travelers, but this place was amazing! The well-laid-out structure guides you through various halls of displays, interactive hotspots, and incredible visuals that mesmerize your experience. The walls are digitally created, making them a fascinating vision in themselves. Even our 5-year-old daughter was thrilled, excited to discover what was around the next corner! There's a café and souvenir shop on-site, but we suggest bringing drinking water as the entire experience can take up to three hours.

Snow Dunes Theme Park
@theirhappytrails
We happened to be in Qatar during the hottest temperatures, so this theme park was a literal breath of cold air! It's exactly what it sounds like: an indoor snow park with all the fun of a snowy day. There’s sledding, ice-skating, bumper cars, igloos, and massive slides spiraling through the park. You can sip on hot chocolate or have a bite at the connected restaurant. If you time it right, you can get the Tuesday discount! For a full day of entertainment, there's a three-park pass available any day of the week, which includes entry to the neighboring Virtuocity and Angry Birds theme parks (also listed in this guide).

Angry Birds World Theme Park
@theirhappytrails
This place was so much larger than we expected! They had rides for every age and all levels of thrill. Half of the park is indoors and the massive rides tower near the building outside. From a trampoline park to go carts and every carnival ride you can imagine, this place is packed! Outside of the park is the food court, however inside you find cotton candy, slushies, and all the sugar filled treats to hype the kids and make the day! If you’re visiting during the summer, you can snag a three-park pass (also described on this guide).

Virtuocity Qatar - Gaming Theme Park
@theirhappytrails
Calling all Gamers! This place is a tech-heaven with a huge eSports arena, several escape rooms, VIP rooms, and Virtual reality games. One could get lost in the lights, action, and gear that line the walls of this entertaining place. If you’re here on a Sunday, there’s a players discount too! This is a part of the three-park package listed in this guide.
