Bogota has so much to offer! However, our favorite is the street food! In this guide, we'll share our favorite bites along with restaurant recommendations, & food tours we've personally been on!
The restaurant is tiny, so there may be a wait, however, it is worth it! We tried their famous tamale, Colombian hot chocolate with chesse, and an envuelto. All of which we would highly recommend!!
By far our favorite Panaderia (bakery) in Bogota! You MUST try the "pan de la abuela". It's a baked cheese bread covered in condensed and evaporated milk!
A fantastic market worth visiting! We tried many different things at the market but our favorite was the Ajiaco. It's a potato soup topped with chicken, capers, & cream. Afterwards, grab some fresh produce from the vendors to take home. Look out for some mangostines!
When you eat here, you'll feel as if you're in Abuela's house. The restaurant is a typical Colombian restaurant that is set up just like a traditional home. The food is cheap and good! Try the menu del dia!

One of the best things to do in Bogota is join a food tour! We must admit that we joined TWO!! Both were fantastic and we highly recommend them. Find the links to the tours we joined below ⬇
✨Empanada Casera - Corn empanadas stuffed with shredded beef and potato.
✨Mazorca Asada - Grilled street corn.
✨Ajiaco - A soup native to the Bogota region, made with different types of potato topped with shredded chicken, cream, and capers.
✨Obleas - A true Colombian street food staple! Usually eaten as a dessert/snack made with two large wafers, stuffed with arequipe (caramel) and cheese. You can opt to add other flavors/fillings as well
✨Colombian coffee - Colombia produces some of the best coffee in the world, however most of it is exported. This means that finding high-quality coffee in Colombia isn't always easy. Therefore, you must visit specialty coffee shops that source high-quality beans to get a good cup of coffee.
A great spot for brunch and coffee near one of our favorite neighborhoods! The food is delicious, and the cafe is very aesthetic. Sit outside on a warm afternoon and order the French toast!
The chef does an excellent job incorporating local flavors and dishes with a modern twist into the menu. We tried fruit we had never seen before, and loved it. The restaurant does have a fine dining atmosphere while still feeling very casual. Give the tasting menu a try, and when you return order your favorites al a carte.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! This hotel is basic, however, it is within walking distance of everything. the staff is also very friendly, & the price is unbeatable

Hiya!! We are Denise and Marco, a full-time travel/ life abroad married couple with a deep passion for immersing ourselves in new cultures and embracing unique experiences around the world. 🙌 We have been living a life abroad for over 8 years!
🎇As we continue to explore and learn from our travels, we have decided to share our experiences and offer personalized travel itineraries and guidance. We believe that every traveler is unique, with individual preferences and interests. We aim to curate tailor-made experiences that focus on local activities and bypass mass tourism.
✨More about us✨
Our love for travel began when we first met, and since then, it has become an integral part of our lives.
In 2016, we made a life-changing decision to leave the comfort of the United States and settle in the vibrant city of London. It was here that we truly began to experience travel in its purest form. London became our launchpad, igniting our passion for discovering the world and teaching us the importance of immersing ourselves in local experiences.
In 2021, we decided to take our travel adventures to the next level. We left behind our settled life in the UK and embraced a nomadic lifestyle, traveling and living abroad permanently. This decision allowed us to break free from societal norms, redefine our boundaries, and truly become citizens of the world. Our experiences taught us that by embracing diversity, we enrich our own lives and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the world around us.
We recently adopted our fur baby while living in Colombia, and he has joined us on our nomadic adventures!
We're excited to guide you on your next adventure 🙌
