This is an ongoing list of my favorite spots to eat and drink in Venice, CA. I lived in Venice for 2 years, and still return often. This funky area of Los Angeles has some amazing restaurants & a great vibe.

Erewhon Market
@michaela
If you could describe LA as a grocery store, it would be Erewhon. The groceries are incredibly overpriced, and the clientele matches that vibe, but the hot bar is so good, it had to make this list. Also, if you’re there for breakfast, the bacon breakfast burrito is *chefs kiss*

The Rose Venice
@michaela
This spot is a Venice classic. The food is delicious for any meal. It also doubles as a cafe and bar. It’s a lot bigger than it looks on the outside, with lots of seating both indoor and outdoor.

Hama Sushi
@michaela
Your neighborhood sushi spot, Hama isn’t cheap, but isn’t expensive either. With a wide variety of rolls, and other non-sushi Japanese items on the menu, there’s something that will please everyone here. The fish is always fresh and well made. The dining room has a really fun atmosphere as well, and there is a cute outdoor dining area too.

Camp Pho
@michaela
This little spot serves up delicious pho and other Vietnamese dishes. They use 72 hour bone broth in their pho, making it extra delicious, and a bit more healthy. The restaurant is owned by a brother-sister duo who inherited it as a struggling Chinese restaurant from their parents, and have since turned it into a successful Vietnamese destination.

NIGHT + MARKET Sahm
@michaela
Yes, I have been to Thailand, and yes, this is the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The menu is pretty unique, and holds more flavor than you can imagine. I recommend the Crispy Rice Salad, the sweet potato curry or the panang curry - but literally everything on the menu is delicious. They also have a really interesting menu of natural wines.

South End
@michaela
This spot has absolutely delicious pizza, and they make and sell their own wine! If you’re lucky enough to meet the owner, he’s super friendly and welcoming.

Hinano Cafe
@michaela
Hinano is about as dive bar as it gets in Venice. This spot serves cheap cheeseburgers, good beer, and is a regular spot for all the characters of Venice, who will more than likely, want to play pool with you.

Barrique
@michaela
This little Italian place has incredible food with a fancy enough feel for the perfect date night, but also laid back enough to not feel too fancy. The restaurant is in a little yellow house, which gives it that hole-in-the-wall feel. The service is fantastic, and the wine list is long.
