About this trip
The Peaks of the Balkans (POB) trail is a 200 kilometer long distance hike through the wild mountains of the Western Balkans. Parts of the trail date back to the cold ware era when tensions between Yugoslavia and Albania where high. In 2006 the official POB trail was opened, partially for political reasons to bring the region closer together. For that reason the trail is equally split between the three countries. But, for that reason not all parts are equally exciting. This modified version of the POB route passes by all the highlights of the POB plus some more not part of the POB.
