Xi Beach
@TravelWithJanvi
The reddish brown sand beach is surrounded with white rocky hills. There are several straw umbrellas and sun beds which you can pay for. There are many taverns and some water sport activities to also do. The grey clay is good for the skin and great fun. Get the clay and cover yourself, let it dry, then wash it off in the sea. Your skin will feel so much more smoother!

Παραλία Πλατιά Άμμος
@TravelWithJanvi
To get to this viewpoint the only way is by hiring a car. There are no buses or taxis which can take you all the way to the viewpoint as the road to get down is made up of gravel and broken in a few spots. There are also large boulders in the middle of the road. We parked the car further away and walked down to this viewpoint of the beach. It is a secluded beach located west of Argostoli and is surrounded by huge cliffs. There are more than 300 steps that have been carved on the cliff side leading to the beach, but they have been damaged by an earthquake and therefore, only accessible by boat.

Παραλία Πετανοί
@TravelWithJanvi
Paralia Petani is a beautiful bay with crystal clear turquoise water and limestone cliffs. A pebbley beach with lots of tiny pebbles, along with some large but, very smooth stones carved by the sea. There are two tavernas and a cafe where you can get meals and drinks. There are also sunbeds and umbrellas for a couple of euros for the day. You can park on-road or in two small car parks. One side of the beach was much more pebbley and difficult to walk on however, there were fewer people on this side of the beach if you want to be away from the crowd!

Paralia Atheras
@TravelWithJanvi
Paralia Atheras is a quiet sandy beach with clear blue waters surrounded by green hills. The water is shallow perfect for swimming and young children! From Lixouri to the beach it is a 30 minute drive. The views to get to the beach are stunning. It is easy to access with plenty of parking available. Unfortunately, there are no sun beds or umbrellas so you will have to bring your own umbrella to create some shade and bring something to sit on. There is also a small tavern near the beach.

Fiskardo
@TravelWithJanvi
Drive to the historic harbour village of Fiskardo which is one of the most beautiful parts of Kefalonia at the very northern tip of the island🇬🇷 Fiskardo is one of the remaining villages which has kept its original Venetian buildings. Sit at one of the cafes or restaurants and take in the beautiful atmosphere. There are also several little boutiques where you can buy souvenirs. Take a photo of the pink colourful spot right next to the coffee shop Palazzo and the entrance to Archontiko Rooms. Don't miss the view of port of Fiskardo too!

Myrtos Cave
@TravelWithJanvi
Myrtos Beach and Cave is a perfect place to spend the afternoon! There is a public parking space above the beach which has a small parking fee. There is a lovely little cave to explore and is easily accessible from Myrtos Beach. A perfect place to cool down on the hot beach. To get to the cave it is extremely pebbley and can hurt your feet, so recommend taking beach shoes or slippers.

Melissani Cave
@TravelWithJanvi
The Melissani Cave is close to Sami. There is plenty of parking outside the cave. The cave’s roof collapsed a few thousand years ago due to an earthquake. The water in the lake is a mixture of freshwater and seawater with a depth of 20 - 30 meters. I recommend getting there just before 11 as we missed the long queues and managed to get on the boat within 10 minutes. You will walk through a small tunnel before reaching the boats at the lake. The boat ride is a quick 10 minute trip. The best time to visit is between 11 am - 1 pm as the sun is directly above and gives a lovely turquoise colour to the water.
