Split Heritage Walks: Areas of Old Valencia

CIUTAT VELLA
Meander from one barrio to the next to discover the whole of La Ciutat Vella, as Valencians call their historic central district.
The Old City, as the 1st district's name translates in Valenciano (the local language similar to Catalan), is comprised of 6 neighborhoods or barrios: El Carme, La Seu, El Mercat, El Pilar, Sant Francesc, and La Xerea.
Explore at your own pace within your available timeframe. Mix and match. Work forward or backward. Visit all of the sites or just those that call to you. (✨ indicates a must-see highlight.) Maybe even return to your favorites to gain another perspective. Make this guide your own.

Always check hours and closure days. Keep in mind that Spanish days start later—many sites don't open until 10 am—but markets open (and close) early. Rearrange to suit individual needs.
