Wildflowers, Borrego Springs weekend
Please carry water and be aware of weather conditions, etc. Wear closed-toed shoes and a hat/sunscreen.
Day 1
If you’re coming in via Montezuma Valley Road, stop in Ranchita at the Yeti market (aka Montezuma Valley Market or Ranchita Bodega) - they’re re-establishing after a fire. Maybe pick up some beer or wine for your first cocktail hour in town to celebrate the start of vacation.
After Ranchita, head down the hill, but keep an eye out for sheep! They can sometimes be seen from the highway, usually around mile markers 10 - 11. Partway down, there’s a huge turnout with signage. Stop there and admire the view.
If you’re coming any other direction, pop in to Village Liquor if you want a celebratory something for the patio.
Any direction you come, stop by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center first thing. You can learn about current park conditions, check on any weather or road concerns, and it’s also the spot of a great view.
