Taipei is a BIG foodie destination, but you will find that a lot of the traditional dishes are heavy on the meat. We spent a week in Taipei (almost exclusively eating) to find all the best spots for vegetarians and the best dishes that are actually naturally vegetarian. Honestly, the food is so tasty that I would go back to Taiwan just to eat!
This guide is full of recommendations for restaurants, breakfast, snacks, night markets, bubble tea, desserts, and convenience store goods. And the info is altogether in an easy-to-use, interactive map.
I have also included a few accommodation recommendations so that you have somewhere to lay down after all that food, as well as handy links to SIM cards and an MRT card so that you can navigate to your all these spots on your phone, and jump on the metro in between foodie spots!
You won't find any fancy, luxury spots in this guide, just proper tasty food.

Street Food Night Markets
Taiwan's street food night markets are some of the best in the world! Raohe is a very popular market with plenty of veg options, and Guangzhou is a much more local market where you won't be bumping into loads of other tourists. Both are definitely worth visiting for amazing food and the atmosphere. If you haven't tried stinky tofu yet, this is the perfect opportunity!

Raohe can get pretty busy, but the food is absolutely worth getting your elbows out for. Keep an eye out for the grilled king oyster mushrooms, scallion pancakes, stinky tofu, and candied fruit on a stick.
