The Summer Guide to Banff, Alberta
Hello Rocky Mountains! I love a good mountain town and Banff is one of the most beautiful areas in Canada. There are endless hiking trails, lakes, rivers & mountains to be explored! Not to mention an adorable Main Street with cute cafes & shops. Summer & early fall is the best time to visit, especially if you are not a winter person!
When you reach Banff you will need to purchase a “Parks Canada” pass. The pass only lasts for one day unless you purchase the yearly pass. It’s $20 a day.
Transportation
I highly recommend you rent a car if you are flying in and out of Calgary. That way you can explore the nearby towns and attractions. If you are traveling in the winter I also recommend renting a car with four wheel drive.
My hometown was a six hour drive from Banff so luckily we had our own car.
