All of the glamour, all of the pasta. Whether you day trip or spend a few days, soak up some Italian Riviera sunshine in this swanky spot.

Day 1

You'll likely arrive by train, boat or taxi/bus from Santa Margarita Ligure. If you're fancy, you've already arrived on your mega yacht. For the rest of us, it's an easy transfer over to the town and you'll get a great view of the beautiful coastline whichever way you choose. Taxi is easiest from the train station.

Check in to your hotel--there aren't too many since Portofino is a small town. You may decide to stay back in S.Margarita and just take day trips over, that's great, too (perhaps not as glam, but we know some of us are on a budget).

If you want to be able to enoy the evening Portofino vibe, the Eight Hotel is a small boutique with a sister hotel in Paraggi. Both are reasonably glam and the lobbies scream fashion with their wallpaper, but the rooms are tiny. The Paraggi hotel is a bit more spacious, but out of the main town. However, if you can go FULL GLAM, book the Splendido (I mean, it'll give you a break from your mega yacht, right?)!

Eight Hotel Portofino

Glorious design, quintessential Italian, and amazing breakfasts at this quaint hotel by the Eight group (sister hotel in Paraggi). Rooms are on the small side, but a quiet and quaint spot to stay for a quick weekend or side trip.

Splendido Mare, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino
@amyposey
If you're going to splurge, this is the spot. Right on the main square, it is Portofino luxury personified. Sophisticated, in the heart of town, and absolutely charming.
