A Romantic Day in Paris
The perfect Parisian day is at your finger tips. Don't make the mistake of getting caught up in the hustle and bustle, rushing from one place to the next, wasting time deciding where to be and when. Follow this guide for the perfect intimate, romantic day on the streets of Paris.
Start your day with a Parisian breakfast (obviously). While there is a number of cafe's around every corner, there is nothing more romantic than spending extra time in bed and many hotels have an excellent breakfast service with traditional Parisian pastries and delicious cappuccinos. We stayed at PLEY hotel, in the 8th arrondissement (where you will be ending your romantic day) and loved the vibe. However, we also recommend staying in any of the amazing places in the 4th arrondissement (where much of this itinerary takes you exploring!).
After a slow morning and delicious breakfast head over to Rue montegruile. This famously beautiful street is filled with delicious food vendors. From meats, cheeses, wines, and breads. Stock up on everything you need for the perfect picnic. There are so many unique shops. Enjoy the walk and pop into whatever places catch your eye.
Your next stop is for a true Parisian picnic. If the weather is warm you must stop at Place des Voges. Nothing is more romantic than beautiful architecture and this is the oldest square in Paris. Loved by locals and much quieter than some of the bigger parks, perfect for an intimate day. This spot is also on the way to our next location
Another option is the Luxembourg gardens. More of a jaunt from Rue Montorgruile, but takes us through our next destination as well. The Luxembourge gardens are grande and beautiful and have a stunning view of the luxemberg palace. Find yourself a spot on the grass and enjoy your picnic here.
On full bellies, your next job is to do some wandering through the most romantic areas in Paris. The 4th and 5th arrondissements are filled with gorgeous streets and unique architecture. We will list some of the most beautiful streets below, but don't be afraid to make your own path.
As the sun begins to lower we will be making our way to the 7th and 8th arrondissements. If you are not big walkers you can hop on the transit or catch a taxi, but we encourage you to make the walk. We suggest skipping the Quai d'Orsay and instead hopping through tiny side streets and really taking your time. You can choose to rent a bike or a scooter, making this jaunt even more enjoyable as your bellies are probably full of food, wine, and coffee at this point.
If you are starting to get hungry you can hop into a number of brasseries en route or in the 7th/8th arrondissements. We suggest Les Deux maggots along the way or Cafe du Marche on rue Cler (another charming street in the 7th arrondessment). Take your time cozying up in the back of a brasserie or cafe. The best and most romantic part of Paris is spontaneously finding the perfect spot and taking in all its magic.
Once the sun has set we will make our way to none other than the Eiffel Tower. There are few different places to view the Eiffel Tower but we recommend starting at these streets.
The tower sparkles on the hour and it is imperative that you stay for the lights, it truly is magic.
At this point you may be exhausted and want to end your perfect day back at the hotel. However, if you want to keep the night going, pop into any number of quiet wine bars or lively cocktail bars and cozy up with some kisses in a booth or dance the night away under the dark lights. See our recommendations for the area below:
