The capital of Estonia, Tallinn, is small, but a worthy gem to discover. If you're someone who likes to discover places in a slow pace, walk, enjoy every moment and let those moments linger, instead of doing things and your sightseeings in a hurry, this guide is perfect for you. It's here to offer you ideas and give you starting places to explore and explore around further around these suggested places in your own time and pace. There's no certain way to follow, just places that could draw your attention. I've just handpicked out the places that I myself have enjoyed and that I as a Tallinn-born keep going back to and can't get enough of. It all really comes down to what you're looking for in your travel. If you enjoy culture, sports, nature, pastries and coffee, then you might find enjoyment in those places as well!

In general, this guide follows free-style structure based on the areas of interests in Tallinn and their closeness to each other.

The guide is divided in following parts:

- The Old Town (Vanalinn)

- Balti jaam + Telliskivi Loomelinnak

- The seaside route from Linnahall towards Rocca Al Mare

- from Narva maantee to Pirita

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Maare
I'm an Estonian, now recently moved to beautiful Valtellina in Italy. I have the background as an anthropologist and I've had the travel and exploration bug in me my whole life. I enjoy the slow travel - taking time to see and get to know the places rather than quick visits. I've always done my own research on places I'm visiting to get the maximum out of it, but also that I would already have an idea what I'm going to concentrate the most on and what I think would fulfill my soul the most based on the information that I have. And then let myself be surprised pleasantly! Unless I really have to, I almost never track down where I'm located on the map. I get myself to the center, but then I enjoy to be immersed in the city and take directions wherever my feet will take me, because only then I will discover so many interesting and spot the undiscovered. But I'm also letting myself get carried away by more adventurous travels (bike!) that leave an element of surprise and where everything may not always go as planned. Slow-travel, culture, sporty element and pastries and coffee are the keywords that go together with me. I'm happy to offer you my curated recommendations in Estonia if you should need one!
