Where to EAT

For Coffee:

I was pleasantly at the quality of coffee I consumed in London. Here are some of my favourite spots.

London's coffee scene is a vibrant mosaic of tradition and innovation, reflecting the city's eclectic nature and its residents' evolving tastes. From Monmouth Coffee Company, known for its cozy atmosphere and excellent coffee served in a grade II listed house, to the matcha delights of How Matcha! London offers a diverse range of coffee experiences. The city has embraced the shift towards specialty coffee, with consumers increasingly favoring independent cafes over branded chains, seeking out unique flavors and artisanal approaches

Monmouth Coffee Company

I stumbled across Monmouth coffee early one morning. Monmouth Coffee is as a saviour for coffee lovers in a city traditionally known for its tea. It's not just a place to grab a quick cup; it's an experience, offering a chance to taste and buy beans from around the globe. Their approach is meticulous, sourcing and roasting beans from single farms, estates, and cooperatives, ensuring a fresh and diverse selection. The Covent Garden shop, originating in 1978, is a cozy yet bustling spot where you can enjoy the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee. Whether you're a coffee snob or just looking for a warm cup, Monmouth is a memorable visit with its focus on quality, fair trade, and genuinely passionate service

WatchHouse Hanover

Check out WatchHouse in Hanover next time you're in Mayfair. It's not just any coffee spot; it's like stepping into a slice of modern coffee culture right in the heart of London. They started in this cool 19th-century watch house on Bermondsey Street and totally nailed the vibe of making each spot unique based on its location. They serve up some seriously good coffee and seasonal dishes that are perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely brunch. Plus, the place is super cozy and dog-friendly, great spot for people watching or even getting some work done.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jacqui Toumbas
As a Australian-born with roots deeply embedded in the rich soil of Cypriot heritage, I bring to the table a zest for life that's as diverse as my background. With a professional footing in nutrition and a passion for cooking, I've always found joy in the art of curating wholesome meals, believing that food is more than sustenance; it's a universal language of love and a bridge between cultures. This belief was the cornerstone of my journey as the owner of Miss Bliss, a café that wasn't just a place to dine but a haven where people came together over the love of good food. Transitioning from café owner to a content creator, my adventures have taken me from the local streets of West End Brisbane to the breathtaking landscapes of Italy, with a special fondness for Puglia. Here, I discovered a slow, savoured life, where every meal tells a story, and every landscape holds a poem. It's this essence of travel - the slow unveiling of a place's soul through its food, people, and culture - that I wish to share with the world. My approach to food and travel goes beyond the mere act of eating or visiting places. It's about understanding the narrative behind every dish, the history woven into the cobblestones of ancient towns, and the silent tales of the rolling countryside. Through my content, I aim to inspire others to not just see the world but to feel it, taste it, and understand it. My journey is a testament to the belief that travel should be an immersive experience, where slow travel and authentic connections pave the way for memories that last a lifetime. From exploring different cultures and cuisines to sharing everything I love about my own culture and food, my goal is to encourage people to fall in love with the world's diversity. Join me as I continue to explore, create, and share the beauty of slow travel, the richness of authentic cuisines, and the joy of making the world a smaller, more connected place, one story at a time.
