Classic Laguna Days
Beaches
Laguna has tons and tons of beaches, but here are the most notable mentions.
Surf
For surfers, the best breaks are at the following beaches:
Beginners will enjoy going to Doheny state beach (or as we locals call it Doho). Here the traditional and cutthroat surfing rules and etiquette don't apply as you will find people of all ages surfing here in the beginning stages of their surfing journey. Waves are no more than 3 ft but have great shape. If you see a wave then send it and don't think too much about dropping in on someone. In the summer long boards are perfect here and you can ride a wave for up to a minute if you're lucky. There's a few sections of the beach and you can check out surfline to see the conditions to paddle out at the best spots. Parking is a few bucks since it's technically a state park.
After a surf session make your way to Lupe's for some great Mexican food (much better mexican food elsewhere but Lupe's is decent and close to Doho).
