Colosseum
@maiwanderlustlife
I did not go inside the Colosseum, but I was initially undecided about booking a tour. The cost and timing of it didn't seem worth it to me. I was pretty happy with seeing it from the outside. I would say it's not necessary to go inside.

La locanda del tempio
@maiwanderlustlife
A local Roman recommended this restaurant. I'm so glad I went! This is where I learned that there's two waters that Italians offer. Natural and carbonated. You have to pay for water and it comes in a glass bottle. I recommend carrying a water bottle with you so that you don't waste the water you purchase!
I ordered the Capricciosa and it was pretty good. The pizza prices in Italy are unbeatable too.

Trevi Fountain
@maiwanderlustlife
I would definitely recommend visiting the fountain during the day and night, if you can!

I am a solo female traveler who LOVES to try new things. To me, life is a compilation of experiments with a goal towards self-discovery. I value personal growth and adventure through travel and hope to service others in their own journey.
Being up for experimenting and trying new things wasn't always the case. I was a perfectionist who did not want to mess up in fear of rejection and damaging my self-worth. It took a lot of self-love and patience to build the confidence that I have today. I worked my way up from a completely guided tour to living abroad alone in a van. See my timeline below. If I can do it, you can do it and I'm here to help support you through that.
Travel History:
2005 - First international trip to Vietnam (with the family)
2013 - South America for the first time for a study abroad trip in Bolivia
2017 - Guided solo trip (2 months in Vietnam)
2020 - Couples trip to Canada (ended early because of COVID 😢)
2022 - Improvised solo trips to Italy and Vietnam
2023 - Moved abroad alone to New Zealand...and started living in a campervan full-time
Cheers,
Mai
