Within the fort are several decorated palaces which include pearl palace, flower palace and mirror palace.
Jaswant Thada is a picturesque, beautiful cenotaph situated near a small lake which was built by King Sardar Singh in memory of his father Jaswant Singh.
The cenotaph is built out of intricately carved sheets of Makrana marble. These sheets are extremely thin and polished so that they emit a warm glow when illuminated by the sun.
Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the world's largest private residences. The palace has 347 rooms and is the principal residence of the former Jodhpur royal family. A part of the palace is a museum.
In the heart of the old walled city, sequestered between narrow winding streets and centuries old havelis, lies a three-hundred-year-old stepwell, Toorji ka Jhalra.
Carved with Jodhpur’s characteristic rose red sandstone, in Rajput architecture, the walls of the stepwell are engraved with carvings of dancing elephants, mediaeval lions & cows; and niches that hold sculptures of deities revered in those times.
A must-visit destination for anyone interested in architectural heritage, the Mandore Gardens is a beautiful garden that delights people of all age groups on their Jodhpur tour.
It is a kind of place that invites history buffs to sneak peek into the history of the region and learn more about its culture through numerous attractions located within the complex.
