🇮🇹 Milan Masterlist
As one of the northernmost major cities of Italy, the joke is that Milanese folks are the least Italian of the Italians. They're the most on time, the most clear, the most reliable. Knowing this may help you translate how culturally different Milan is from other Italian cities!Â
How long should you spend in Milan?
It depends, honestly.Â
Milan is more of a living city than a tourism city, so you don't need a ton of time there. If it's part of a bigger whirlwind Italy trip, maximize your time in Rome or Cinque Terre rather than staying here.
I'd recommend two days, or three with a day trip.Â
You can see everything in one big day if that's what you want. Plan for 2ish hours at the Duomo, a self-guided walking tour that'll include a few of the niche spots or neighborhoods I include below. The Last Supper painting is a timed entry, but including getting there early, that'll be about an hour. It'll be an exhausting day, but it's doable.Â
If you're thinking of a day trip, I'd recommend Lake Como or Brescia!Â
