Málaga is a municipality in Spain, serving as the capital of the Province of Málaga within the autonomous community of Andalusia. Situated along the Mediterranean coast, south of Granada and Cádiz, and sharing borders with Córdoba and Seville to the north, this Andalusian city boasts a vibrant cultural scene. Birthplace of the iconic artist Pablo Picasso, Málaga has undergone a recent cultural revival, introducing museums catering to diverse tastes.

With its perfect blend of seaside charm, cultural richness, lively ambiance, and an array of tapas served in its bars, Málaga offers an enticing experience. Trendy neighborhoods, modernized areas like the port, and centuries-old monuments contribute to the city's allure. The consensus that Málaga is more beautiful than ever surely stems from its captivating blend of history, modernity, and artistic vibrancy.

How to get there?

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP)

Upon arrival at the Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), various transportation options can whisk you to the city center.

For a swift journey, consider taking the train conveniently located at the airport. Upon exiting the airport, proceed straight across to the station ahead, turn right, and purchase your train ticket (€ 1.80). After passing through the turnstile, head to the left and descend the stairs or use the elevator to catch the C1 Málaga Centro Alameda metro.

Alternatively, you have the option of choosing a taxi or similar mode of transportation for your journey.

PS: And also, if you want to go see Marbella, you can take the bus and you will arrive in approximately 1 hour.

Best area for finding accommodation

Certainly, one option is to secure lodgings in the city center so you can check the port, the historical center, the museums and the famous Larios Street, ensuring you're immersed in the vibrant atmosphere. Keep in mind that it might get a bit noisy at night.

Alternatively, you can choose accommodation a bit farther from the city center, allowing for a quieter stay. From there, you can easily access the city center using options like buses, bikes, or even a leisurely walk.

Feel free to mix and match these approaches based on your preferences and the duration of your stay.

What was my go-to choice for accommodation whenever I visited Málaga?

Throughout my three visits to Málaga (so far haha), I deliberately opted for the charm of El Palo instead of staying in the bustling city center.

Venturing down to the beach, you're greeted with a myriad of dining options where you can savor a delightful meal while relishing the scenic beauty of the coastline. It's a harmonious blend of tranquility, accessibility, and breathtaking views that truly made my stays in El Palo memorable.

Málaga awaits!

Discover the enchanting blend of history, culture, and vibrant energy in Málaga. Pack your bags, set your wanderlust free, and let the beauty of this coastal gem captivate you. Stay tuned for my upcoming comprehensive guide, where I'll unveil the hidden gems (also for grabbing a delicious bite) and must-visit spots that make Málaga a traveler's paradise.
