How to get there?

Bratislava International airport is only a 10-15 minute drive from the old town centre! Making this the perfect city for short weekend getaway.

They don’t have Uber, but offer a similar service called Bolt. It works the exact same way and is just as cheap. Simply download the App and get going!

Alternatively, if travelling from Vienna, you can catch a Flixbus for as little as €5!

The journey takes one hour and the buses are comfortable. You also get plenty of luggage allowance - no extra fees for suitcases!

Where to Stay

Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel

For a convenient and comfortable stay close to the centre of the old town, I recommend the Radisson Blu Carlton. We picked up a room for less than £100 per night.

It’s prime location next to the Slovak National Theatre, makes it a good choice if you’re limited on time. There are loads of restaurants close by.

Loft Hotel

A very cool, boutique hotel. You can pick up a room for £90-100, it’s centrally located and even includes a FREE daily refilled mini bar!

The reviews speak for themselves.

Breakfast

The most important meal of the day (for me, at least).

How else will you have the energy to power you through a full day of exploring!?

Fach

Fach offers a delicious selection of pastries and sweet treat breakfast options. As well as super tasty, healthy options like granola bowls.

For Authentic Cuisine

Bratislava Flagship

We wanted to try out some authentic Slovak dishes. The internet led us here, and we were not disappointed!

It’s also one for the history buffs, as the restaurant is located inside an old monastery built by the Merciful Brothers in the 18th century. It’s a grand building, full of traditional features.

There was a queue to enter the restaurant, it almost deterred us, but I’m glad it didn’t! The queue went down quickly as the restaurant is huge, we also decided it was a good sign that people were prepared to queue. It paid off, the food was delicious and lots of options to try different Slovak dishes.
