They love it when you try speaking, even if it's just a few words as pleasantries. Please do this!
The above is especially important when entering in leaving shops. You should always say "Bonjour" when you enter and "Bonne Journee" when you leave.
Athleisure is not really a thing here. Please wear real clothes.
Umbrellas are OK (and strongly recommended) here! The attitude is "dress nice and bring an umbrella" rather than "dress like you could go on a hike at any moment." Rain jackets are also worn here, especially the classic yellow ones (you can buy one at Petit Bateau!). Wellies/rainboots are not really a thing here.
FYI: it can rain even in June.
