One day in Warsaw | Most important highlights
Follow the itinerary below to mark the most important highlights and touristic objectives for just one quick day in Warsaw!
Poland really impressed me as a tourist, with wonderful urbanism for people and you will understand why from this article.
š start your day at Warsaw Barbican, a semicircular fortified outpost dating back to mid-16th century
š from here you enter the Old City Center. Go to the Old Town Square to see those beautiful buildings that they reconstructed after the Second World War
š² I recommed having lunch at this authentic restaurant - Restauracja Kamienne Schodki
š continue to Royal Castle
š then to Sigismund Column
šafter this, go towards the river to walk on their river bank, a well thought urbanistic space where people are walking or using their bycicles, or they relax. You can put Copernicus Science Centre to walk in the right way.
š you can walk the city streets to discover how locals live
š the final spot is Palace of Culture and Science - this is a gift from Stalin to the Polish people. It was built between 1952 - 1955, in the architectural style of the Soviet Union sky scrappers. It looks similar to Moscow University, but the architect liked the local architecture so he included some elements into it. Today it hosts a cinema and a pool! And also classic stuff like companies, institutions, a library, a university and an events hall.Ā
Accomodation in Warsaw
We stayed at Motel One and despite the fact that is named Motel, it has the standards of an at least 3 stars hotel! Good location and good price!
