Foodie finds in North London 🍽️ ✨

Foodie finds in North London 🍽️ ✨

Even though I lived in South London for 2 years, I actually worked in the North. As long as the tube ride might have been, it did allow me to explore both sides of the river fairly well! I also had amazing colleagues ready to show me the hidden gems of the North which I have put together here for you!

Sweets:

Bubblewrap Waffle (Chinatown)
@czphoneshome
These Bubblewraps have become quite popular (I've seen them in different areas of London and different cities)! But this is my favourite spot to enjoy this unique waffle, filled with ice cream, and it's located in China Town! 🧇 Note: This is an ice cream dish (I didn't know it at the time and ordered one in the middle of fall and was quite chilly by the end)!

Ben's Cookies
@czphoneshome
Ben’s Cookies was my greatest discovery during my 2 years in London! They are PHENOMENAL! I have taken so many people here and have recommended them countless times! They have several spots around London, one on Oxford street making it the perfect snack during a shopping day, one in Covent Garden making it the perfect dessert stop and many more around town! 🍪 They are also located in other cities in the UK (I first discovered them when I visited Oxford!).

Pizza:

Homeslice (Neal's Yard)
@czphoneshome
No matter what, I'd suggest you visit Neal's Yard. It's an adorable little corner of London with colourful buildings and tiny shops. This is a super cool place with delicious pizza right in the centre of all the action 🍕

50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo Pizzeria (Charing Cross)
@czphoneshome
This was the best pizza I had in London in the 2 years I lived there! Just saying! 🍕 It's located just off Trafalgar Square so its really well situated if you need a meal during a tourist day in London!

High Tea:

The Wolseley (Mayfair)
@czphoneshome
This is a super classy place to grab afternoon tea which just adds to the experience! The food was amazing and I really enjoyed myself! ☕️ This is another experience that I booked in advance. High Tea is really popular in London so places can book up quickly so its best to plan ahead! Note: if you aren’t able to go for afternoon tea here, I’d still recommend going some other place! Afternoon tea, in my opinion, is a must when visiting London!

The Hansom (St Pancras Station)
@czphoneshome
Another beautiful place to enjoy afternoon tea but also a really great reason to visit INSIDE St Pancras Hotel! It has a stunning grand staircase that, if you can, I’d recommend popping for a quick peak! 🏨 The restaurant is located at St Pancras Station so its really accessible if you're on the go!

Drinks:

Gordon's Wine Bar (Embankment)
@czphoneshome
This is the oldest wine bar in London! You can enjoy a charcuterie platter with a nice glass of wine underneath the city of London! 🍷 Note: this is a really tiny place, and the best experience is to grab a table in the cellar! It’s usually super busy and packed so try and time your visit perfectly!

Turkish Food:

Gallipoli Cafe & Bistro (Islington)
@czphoneshome
The food here is great but the restaurant is also amazing! It is really beautiful and is full of light! 💡

Kilis Kitchen (Islington)
@czphoneshome
This is a really great place to enjoy some lamb and puffy bread! 😋 I'd recommend coming by bus because the train and tube stations are a bit far but still very easy to access!

Italian Food:

Eataly London (Spitafields)
@czphoneshome
Eataly is a chain but it’s a really good experience to try at least once! Whether you're in the mood to shop or dine, Eataly is the place to be! They have so many imported Italian products and you can order fresh pasta, pizzas and desserts right in the store! I’d recommend really spending your time browsing the fresh food and store itself! It’s all delicious 🍝 You can book a reservation for the dining room but there is also seating outside and we picked up our food in cafeteria-style!

BONUS:

Maple Leaf (Covent Garden)
@czphoneshome
This is my incredibly biased recommendation because it’s a Canadian restaurant in the heart of London! They have some really good poutine and some honest-to-goodness imported Canadian beers! 🇨🇦 It’s also a great spot to watch a hockey game if that’s your thing! Its also really well located, it's just off of Covent Garden which is a really great place to be and there's always lots going on!
