Superkilen Park
@ashleeineurope
This is a little out of the way compared to the rest of the sights however if you like a bit of optical illusion then its brilliat, there is also a little playpark shaped like an octopus wich we really enjoyed (as fully grown adults!). There is a little coffee shop just on the corner too so grab a drink and sit out and watch the world go by.

Rosenborg Castle
@ashleeineurope
Rosenborg Castle is really impressive, we just decided to go around the Kings Garden and see the castle from the outside but the gardens are beautiful too. If your lucky, you may be able to see the castle guards changing outside!

Kastellet
@ashleeineurope
Kastellet is an old army barracks which seems to have stopped in time but the best part of this place? The walk up the hill to the windmills! Being sat completely in nature and makes you forget that you are in a busy capital city.

The Little Mermaid
@ashleeineurope
A must have for an visits to Copenhagen but don't plan to spend long here, it really is a statue that people look at and thats about it. However the atmosphere around the area was brilliant, walks along the water with musicians providing the background sounds.

One for the arcitecture lovers, it really is a magnificant sight to see and if you a photography fan? Walk along the river to get it perfectly framed with fountains!

Nyhavn
@ashleeineurope
Probably the most iconic sight in Copenhagen and for good reason, it is beautiful and the perfect spot to stop (rest those feet) and have a drink and some food in one of the many bars and restaurants here (beware though, this is probably the most expensive place in the city!)

Freetown Christiania
@ashleeineurope
I loved Freetown, and it is absolutely worth a visit even if you’re not into smoking because its fascinating! Be warned though.... when we went there was a police raid going on which kind of ruined the vibes a bit however, we were told that literally an hour after we left everything was back open and people were out enjoying a coffee in the sunshine!

Christianshavn
@ashleeineurope
Another lovely little area for a wander, similar to Nyhaven but not as busy. There are some lovely cafes and pastry shops around here to stop at take in the views.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ashlee Kettle
Hi everyone,
I’m Ashlee and I like to travel around Europe around my 9-5 job. Because I don’t have the luxury of travelling full time, I have really learnt to maximise my short breaks by carefully planning. I have a love of photography and I am always seeking out the best spots to grab photos, bonus points if these are Instagrammable!
I generally travel with either friends or my husband but we are also venturing into take our children along with us this year so we will be able to offer child friendly guides as well. We also take advantage of the many beautiful places in our home country of England (with our dog) so if the British countryside or seaside is your thing, I’m sure you will find something you like here too.
As a lover of the off beaten track too I will always try to find something a little different to what you would find on google. Hope you enjoy my guides, and I am happy to offer any advice, if you want to follow along on my adventures please head over to @ashleeineurope on Instagram!
