Transportation

The most popular way to reach the Atacama Desert is by flying to Santiago and then taking another flight to Calama, the city closest to the desert. From Calama, you can take a bus to San Pedro de Atacama, which serves as the starting point for exploring the Atacama's locations.

There are two ways to travel from Calama to San Pedro de Atacama: either by getting a taxi or taking a group transfer. I opted for the group transfer, which was included in my tour package. If you choose a separate transfer, it usually costs around $20-30 per person one-way.

Tours

I booked a 4-day program tour but customized it by changing one location to something more interesting for me. To make changes, you'll need PayPal to pay any additional fees or receive refunds.
