Dining in Florence

Judy Witts Francini
I lived downtown Florence from 1984 to 2000. I love old school trattorias, but have included some newer places as well.

The owner has a farm about Florence and raises tomatoes. A little new style Florentine. Stanley Tucci also filmed here.

Babae
@Diva
This place became famous as they reopened one of the old Buchette di Vino, wine doors and was also featured on Stanley Tucci. But the owner's family has been in the restaurant business for years. A more modern funky dining style. The wine door "opens" or an hour or so in the afternoon early evening if you want the "foto op"

The rooftop location is open in summer. Fish lab itself is on via proconsolo.

Golden View Firenze
@Diva
Great menu as well as a fabulous view. The restaurant is in several sections... but all have the view.

Trattoria Mario
@Diva
Old school trattoria near the Mercato. Closed on Sunday and closed at dinner. ( they now need reservations which you can make the morning you want to go by calling.) They are also open a couple of nights a week now.

Osteria Pepó
@Diva
This has always been my go to trattoria when Mario's is so crowded. The owner Anna has a lovely menu. Look for the daily specials on the blackboard.

Il Santo Bevitore
@Diva
it's a favorite on the oltr'arno side of the river. The side where the "nobility" live. Great shopping street too.
