48 Hours in Glacier National Park
Day 1
Start of your day bright and early to head to the Grinnell Glacier trailhead. This hike is on the east side of the park. The trail is an out and back 10 mile hike with a little over 2,000 feet of elevation gain. It takes roughly 5 hours on average to complete. Make sure to bring bear spray and keep it accessible since this is hike is famous for their grizzlies!
This hike features alpine lakes, a waterfall, and of course, Grinnell Glacier! If you dare, you can swim in the glacier to cool off or sit on the rocks and eat your lunch here.
After the hike, I would reccommend camping at St. Mary's campground or St. Mary's lodge if that is your preferred accomodation. In order to camp at Glacier National Park, you MUST have a Going-To-The-Sun road permit that you can purchase on recreation.gov.
