Sorrento
Raki
@MementoMartina
Nationally renowned, artisanal gelateria in the heart of Sorrento, serving gelati made from quality ingredients without additives or artificial coloring.
The metal lids you see in the counter are โcarapineโ, metal containers used by many artisanal gelato producers to help preserve gelatoโs properties and fight oxidation by keeping it away from direct light sources, oxygen, and abrupt temperature changes.
Second location on Corso Italia, 96.

Trattoria Da Emilia
@MementoMartina
Traditional, family-run, "Sorrentina" home-style cooking in a restaurant right on the Marina Grande, so you can see and hear the water as you're enjoying a delicious fish-based meal. Pro tip: ask for a table on the edge of the platform when you make your booking.
Italian actress Sophia Loren was a regular at this restaurant while in town to film "Pane, amore, e..." in 1955, a fact you will be reminded of by the gallery of photos of her on the dining room wall.
Recommended dishes:
- caprese salad with fresh, local tomatoes and fresh, local mozzarella cheese (vegetarian);
- spaghetti with clams ("vongole");
- potato "gnocchi alla sorrentina" pasta with tomato sauce and melty mozzarella (vegetarian);
- ravioli capresi: fresh pasta pockets filled with ricotta cheese (vegetarian), served with tomato sauce;
- toothsome scialatielli pasta;
- fried fish and seafood platter.

Positano
L'alternativa - Cocktail Bar on the Pier
@MementoMartina
Avoid the overpriced tourist traps on the beach and head straight to this little port-side kiosk for a drink and a snack to enjoy perched on one of their little tables or hanging out on the wharf, where you'll also enjoy some great "people watching"!

Saraceno d'Oro
@MementoMartina
Great restaurant in Positano with authentic, perfectly-executed regional cuisine. It's a ways up the hill from the beach, which is surrounded by tourist traps, and worth the little "detour".
Order:
- "bruschetta al pomodorino fresco": grilled toast topped with fresh tomato, basil and olive oil (vegetarian);
- steamed mussels,
- fried fish platter,
- pasta with seafood ("allo scoglio"),
- spaghetti "alla puttanesca" with black olives, capers, and tomato sauce (vegetarian),
- tomato and mozzarella gnocchi pasta ("alla sorrentina") (vegetarian),
- "minestrone di verdure" vegetable soup (vegetarian);
- spaghetti with clams,
- tiramisรน,
- delizia al limone lemon cake.
Best to reserve in advance, especially on the weekend.

Lo Guarracino
@MementoMartina
If youโre looking to dine with a view, but away from the crowds populating the center of town, check out Lo Guarracino, found on a side path, past the port and on the way to Fornillo beach.
The food is simple, straightforward and traditionally local: pasta, fish, some meat, pizza.
Best to reserve in advance, especially on the weekend.
